Jil Jilala is one of the most influential and enduring musical groups in Moroccan history. Formed in Marrakech in 1972, they emerged during a vibrant era of cultural and political transformation, parallel to the legendary Nass El Ghiwane.
Together with their contemporaries, Jil Jilala revolutionized the North African music scene by moving away from classical Egyptian-style orchestral arrangements and returning to deeply rooted Moroccan traditions.
